The largest part of our business is creating slides and transparencies much more so than prints on paper. However, from time to time people do need high-quality paper prints. To make it easy for you to obtain these, we use an Epson Stylus Photo 900 inkjet printer with Premium Glossy Photo Paper and six color inks to produce both 4 x 6 inch prints as well as 8.5 x 11 inch prints of your digital images. This printer has a maximum printing resolution of 5760x720 dpi and 4 picoliter ink droplet size to achieve the finest photo-realistic output. Color fidelity to the slides we produce is very good, but the dyes used on paper ARE different than those used in film, so there may be some slight differences. The cost of a 4 x 6 inch print is $1.00, and an 8.5 x 11 inch one is $5.00, for two-day service. Add 50% for one-day service or 100% for same-day service. There is a $4.50 handling charge on all orders.
Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
