To start making your slides in Pagemaker, in the "File" drop-down menu, go to "New" in the "Document Setup". Set the "Page Size" to "Custom", with dimensions of 7.33" by 11". Choose "Orientation" as "Wide", and uncheck the "Double Sided" option. Set all margins to 0. If you choose to use 8.5" x 11" paper size instead, set both the top and bottom margins to .58", and tell us you want Premium Service pricing for your slides. Target output resolution should be 300dpi.
You must store a copy of all .eps files in the publication (embed them instead of link them). This action will create a larger file, but is necessary if you do not want our Premium Service prices. Another way to to be sure to send us the files is to "Save as...Publication", and choose "copy files required for remote printing."
We have on our machine all the fonts which came with Adobe Pagemaker as well as with Windows, but to avoid font substitution, let us know which fonts you have used, as they are not all installed at one time! You may use either Postscript or Truetype fonts.
Photographic Specialties is no longer producing slides and transparencies. I have been self-employed for 35 years, but looking forward to retirement since my wife died five years ago. With the decline of conventional photography and the recent recession, the availability of film and chemicals as well as the volume of work has declined to such an extent that it is no longer possible to have fresh chemicals to develop film. I hope that if you still need conventional slides and transparencies, you will be able to find someone who can produce them for you. Thank you for your orders over the years.
